Surgical missions are at the heart of what ISHI does. With a focus on underserved communities in developing nations around the world, we are dedicated to providing free surgical care to the people who need it most. It has only been a little over a year since our inception, but ISHI has already conducted three major missions—one to Guatemala for it’s inaugural mission, and two to Haiti in response to the devastating earthquake— and is in the process of organizing two more by the end of the year. And 2011 is promising to be even busier. ISHI’s success has helped prove that a small, focused, flexible team can make a huge impact.
