Conceived of as a fully self-contained surgical team, International Surgical Health Initiative (ISHI) looks to partner with other like-minded non-profit organizations who have established ties to underserved communities and supplement their work by adding a surgical component to their team. In addition to performing life-saving surgery, we believe that it as important to find ways to prevent and treat the illnesses and chronic conditions that cause the need for surgery, and to address the subsequent medical consequences of these conditions.
